Allie Woodbury
Allie Woodbury is an active performer and educator in Northern Virginia. She has performed throughout the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and the Netherlands as a soloist and chamber musician. Allie provides private instruction in trumpet ranging from beginning students to the collegiate level. She earned her Bachelor of Music Performance from James Madison University in 2019 and a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance with a Graduate Certificate in Baroque Trumpet at the University of Kentucky in 2021.
As a performer Allie has worked with a variety of ensembles including wind bands, orchestras, brass quintets, brass bands, and jazz ensembles. She has enjoyed playing in numerous brass bands throughout the United States and Canada such as the James Madison University Brass Band (Virginia, USA), the Massanutten Brass Band (Virginia, USA), the North American Brass Band Summer Camp Band (NS, Canada) and was a founding member of the Cardinal Brass Band (Kentucky, USA) and Cherry Blossom Brass Band (Washington D.C., USA). In addition to performing with the bands she also received 2nd place at the North American Brass Band Championships in the High Brass Adult Slow Melody Solo section on Flugelhorn in 2019.
Regularly performing as a chamber musician, she has been a member of multiple brass quintets and trumpet ensembles. During her time at JMU she formed the Blue Valley Quintet with fellow student brass musicians. In Kentucky, she was a member of the University of Kentucky Faculty Brass Quintet, where they actively toured and performed throughout the United States. Through various trumpet ensembles she has gained experience for modern and baroque trumpet styles.
Outside of playing and teaching private lessons, Allie is a dedicated pet sitter and dog walker, video game enthusiast, and avid reader.
