Andrew Foote
Andrew is an elementary general music teacher and long-time brass band nut! He grew up in Fairfax, VA, always playing music with his family, ranging from Dixieland and Jazz standards to Classic Rock and Funk. He attended James Madison University for his undergraduate degree and has studied tuba with Mark Thiele and Kevin Stees. He has been fortunate to play in a variety of ensembles and environments, including the JMU Symphony, JMU Wind Symphony, JMU Brass Band, and Brass Band of Northern Virginia.
While he is thankful every day for his elementary students, he still maintains an active performing schedule as a BBb bass player in the Massanutten Brass Band since 2015, and the tuba player in the Orange Line Brass Quintet since 2022. He also works as a private lesson instructor for tuba, euphonium, trombone, and trumpet. He recently began a Masters degree program at Eastern Washington University in music education.
Andrew is also working on his skills as a banjo and guitar player, and enjoys singing with his wife and two dogs at their home in Warrenton. If he’s not making music, he’s making a mess in the workshop, garage, or the yard!
