Caleb DeGroote
Originally from Canandaigua, NY, Caleb is currently a resident of Washington, D.C. He holds a Bachelor's of Arts in Music and Political Science from Binghamton University and a Master's of Arts in Diplomacy from Norwich University, Military College of Vermont. Throughout his life, music performance and education have always been an integral part of his life.
Caleb started teaching competitive music programs at Naples High School (NY) in 2006, and has since taught at 14 different high schools at 17 different ensembles, for a total of more than 30 different seasons. His ensembles have won or medaled in a variety of different circuits, including NYSFBC, NYSPC, TOB, and USBands.
He was also very active in Drum Corps for nearly a decade, playing in the front ensemble with the Rochester Crusaders (DCA) in 2008 and 2009, Citations (DCI) in 2009, teaching the Empire Statesmen (DCA) front ensemble from 2010 to 2013, taking the role of percussion caption head and arranger for Windsor Regiment (DCA) in 2014, and teaching the front ensemble at Fusion Core (DCA) in 2015 and 2016.
Currently, Caleb is deeply involved in the competitive British Brass Band community, having played with Chesapeake Brass Band (2014), Rockville Brass Band (2015 - 2019), Atlantic Brass Band (2017-2018), and the Brass Band of Northern Virginia (2019-2023) in national and international competition.
He was the co-President of Rockville Brass Band from 2016-2019, on the Board of Directors for the North American Brass Band Association (NABBA) in 2018, and a co-founder and Board of Director for the Brass Band of Northern Virginia. Most recently, his awards include:
